"These cinnamon apples taste like a cobbler or pie without the crust. I was looking for a recipe for Cinnamon apples and all I could find were recipes for baking the whole apple - not what I wanted. After much searching I finally came across this recipe - I unfortunately cannot remember the site. It can easily be reduced to 2 or 3 apples, just watch it as it cooks. We serve this over ice cream and it is delicious. It can also be used on pancakes, waffles, or all by itself."

  2. Has anyone ever made this without peeling the apples? Just wondering if not peeling them would make it easier and healthier? Thank you!

  1. These are really yummy! I used 6 very large Melrose so I decreased the sugar to 1 cup. I cooked in the crockpot because I didn't have any room in the oven. I did 4 hours on low. When they were tender, I mixed in a teaspoon of cornstarch and water to thicken it a bit. I served with ham and it was a huge hit!!! The possibilities are endless!

  2. OH My. these were delicious as you said it taste just like an apple pie without the crust. Delicious with ice cream or without. I love cinnamon and this fit the bill. I used Granny smith apples. Baked at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes. Thank you for sharing the recipe, I will be making these instead of regular baked apples.

  3. Excellent! I was looking for a healthier dessert, as both my hubby & I have quite a big sweet tooth ;) This fit the bill!I halved the recipe and sub'd honey for the sugar and added about 2 teaspoons molasses powder.Served these plain, it was yummy all by itself!Very good, thanks for posting, will definitely make again!

  4. This is so easy, quick, and yummy! I use splenda brown sugar and it turns out great! I make these all the time now, for my fiance and me.

  5. Super easy and delicious! Yep, just like apple pie without the crust. A friend gave me a huge bag of small apples from his backyard and this was a great way to use up some of them. 10 small apples with the rest of the ingredients halved worked perfect for about 3 dessert servings. Remove these from the pan within a couple minutes because as the sugar cools they start sticking to the pan (even though it was a non-stick pan!). These apples would also be great on top of plain unsweetened oatmeal for breakfast.

When I was 10 I discovered the joy of cooking on the back of a Nestle Toll house Chocolate Chip bag. It was the first recipe I ever made. I had a blast and it was a lot of fun to cook something that everyone loved. To this day, baking is one of my favorite things to do, and it shows! (that explains the lack of a picture, hehe)On the non-cooking front, I lead a fairly normal life. For the past four and half years I have been able to stay home with my DD and be a full time mom (is there any other kind?). In college I had a wonderful professor, Dr. Mark Woodhouse (his books are fascinating BTW) and I began my study of the paranormal, conspiracy theory, and metaphysics. I can honestly say it changed my life. I earned my degree in Philosophy with a minor in Religion and English. For those of you who are interested in Astrology, I am a Pisces Dragon. A great book (did I mention that I like to read a lot?) is The New Astrology by Suzanne White. She actually sums up my life very well when she says: "Pisceans born in Dragon years will be touchy and argumentative until they finally stop trying to prove themselves. Then they will become effecient in a chosen profession, stay in a pleasant rut, and cruise around all day dreaming about what to make for dinner."
